STUDIO BRIEF 3 – ANIMATE

The next brief which we started was to look at animation briefly as we were going to be creating a flip book and turn it into a short animation; which would be only a few seconds long. I started by doing some research on key events which happened during the development of animation. The first key event I looked at was the invention and creation of the Zoetrope. A Zoetrope is a machine where the viewer would look through a slit at a turning wheel with a series of pictures on it. While the wheel turned, the pictures would appear to be one image in motion rather than many separate ones which started off the animation phase.
