Module Overview and Schedule: Visual Effects and Animation for Film Production

During the first brief for our project we were given our module overview which included when we are in and what certain things we would be doing on those days. Around this overview I wanted to fill in the blanks with a schedule that included what I would be doing in this time and how much I will need to have done by certain points. This will hopefully help me with my time keeping for this year as it hasn't been very good in the past and this is something that I definitely need to work on.

Week 1: Viewing of a VFX breakdown video and discussion, also starting to generate initial ideas.
Start to work out initial ideas and create a production schedule.

Week 2: Maya refresher and learning about render passes, then continue with self directed study.
Continue to work on ideas to generate a final idea based on one theme.

Week 3: Audio workshop and continuing with self directed study.
Research ideas further and start to blog about them and the ideas.

Week 4: Location shoot to develop camera and lighting skills in a physical environment.
Story board the final video, taking all camera angles into consideration.

Week 5: Introduction to compositing and continuing with self directed study.
Finish story boarding and start animatics.

Week 6: Seminar about the history of compositing and continuing with self directed study.
Ensure all pre-production work is complete and do any final research.

Week 7: Interim crit session showing all of complete pre-production work.
               Have all pre-production work complete.

Week 8: Self directed study.
Ensure cameras are booked out to start filming either this or next week.

Week 9: Seminar of requirement including a Q&A followed by self directed study.
After filming start editing film and adding in title and credit sequences.

Week 10: Final crit session showing our final product in a 10 minute presentation.
Ensure all post-production work is complete ready for submission.

Week 11: Finishing up for submission later in the week.
Ensure all work is complete, including pre & post-production and any additional research.

I then later on made a Gant chart to plan out my time better in which these weeks changed slightly based on what I thought was actually going to be the best way to do it. I also added in extra details which I had not thought about above when planning my time.
