For this project we have decided to go with a story that is personal to
one of us in the group as we can then relate to the subject the most
and put more effort into bring the story to life and ensuring that it is
told in the best way and most accurate way possible. For this brief we wanted to ensure that we could create something exciting that would bring the untold story to life in a unique way.
We started this process by first sitting down as a group and discussing every idea which not only related to us but also was a do-able story that we could tell but was also one that was very personal to each member of the group.
We came up with a number of different ideas that were all do-able in terms of filming but in the end decided to go down Callum's story of self-harming. There were a number of different other stories that we could have easily looked at and could have still made a very powerful and dramatic film, but in the end we decided to go with Callum's as it could pose such a challenge as to how we can make the cuts seem realistic and how we can make people believe in our story fully. When looking back at the brief I made sure that our story fit into all of the different categories and found that it did and it was a very good story to follow as it is very unique per person and a topic that many people do not want to talk about. Finally in terms of the target audience this was a big section for us as we definitely wanted to target a teenage audience so not to raise awareness of sorts but just tell a story of what it can do so to hopefully promote the horror it can cause.
