The next company that I wanted to look at was Square Enix, a very big contrast to Blizzard that I had previously looked at. The company does produced some more sylised stuff with the Final Fantasy series but with the new Tomb Raider launch that they have done more recently. The art style for this varies greatly looking to create more of a realistic appearance rather than a unique look like WOW or Final Fantasy.
The company itself again is very large, especially compared to a lot of Indie Gamers that I have been looking at. The larger the company the bigger the scale of the game can be and the more detail can be added in making the games so exciting to play as there is always so much going on. The games that they produce are very different compared to Blizzards games which are are quite similar in style but differ in game play.
Below is what they are currently advertising for a Mobile Designer in their London, the main skills needed are fairly global and could be suited to a lot of people, but again they are looking for someone with industry experience already, something that I do not have. I have everything else as well apart from that and the knowledge of using 3DS Max, something that I do want to begin to explore over the summer this year.
Knowledge & Experience
-Mobile Games industry experience and a proven track record of designing successful and published Mobile AAA titles.
-Must have been hands on Mobile game designer at a game developer or publisher on at least two published titles from start to finish.

-Experience in a broad design role with responsibility for a large part, system or full game design
-Familiar with popular design techniques, tools, processes and pipelines for building video games, including prototyping, scripting, level editing

-Ideally will have worked with a number of design tools in the past, and will have a basic knowledge of programming, art creation using packages such as 3DS Max, as well as a strong competency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
