Context of Practice 3: Environment Concept Art and Floor Plans

I then went onto creating a few pieces of concept art with ideas that could be used in my final piece. I really like this first idea of the northern lights coming in on a curve and then melting into the sky, I really like the look of this version of the northern lights as it brings a cold and eerie atmosphere to the scene.
This next piece looks at adding in a bit more light, especially from the moon which is definitely something that I want to add into my scene, but this is coming away from the coldness that I want to achieve and more brighter and warm looking. Again I really like the look of the Northern Lights and how it looks so bold against the night sky.
Lastly I looked at the design of the vault and how the snow around it makes it look even colder. It looks very grand and majestic against the bland snow around it and this is something that I definitely want to look at adding in as it stands out well against the rest of the landscape and is built into the rocks and snow around it.
So I then looked at adding in a floor plan, this was a very basic outline of the different mountains around the area and then how high they were going to be next to the ground and sea levels.
I then took my floorplan forward and looked at how I could add in elements into the world. So each colour represents the different objects that will be featured and there is a path drawn out that the player can follow to get down to the vault. This floor plan will definitely come in handy when it comes to creating my final game level and it will allow me to see what objects work best in what area as I am adapting the real location of Svalbard to my own version.
