One game that I have really been looking forward to this whole year is the remake of The Binding of Isaac. This was definitely my favourite game from last year and I was looking forward to the remake for most of 2014. The whole game has had a new art style added to it and now doesn't run on flash, making it run so much smoother than originally without any frame rate issues.
The game includes the same story being about a boy called Isaac who is condemned to the basement after his mother hears a message from God telling her to kill her son. It plays on from this and you have to make your way through procedurally generated levels until you defeat all of the bosses to beat the game, unlock new characters and reach Real Platinum God by getting all of the items and the achievements.
As the whole game has been remade the items from the previous game and the DLC have been included along with a whole set of new items as well making the game feel even better than before with all new content. It also introduces the new transformations and changes the way in which items interact together. Now if you collect say technology, which gives you a lazer beam tear, and then get homing tears, your lazer will turn purple and will bend towards enemies to get them, making it look really cool.
With its awesome new soundtrack and tons of hours of game play in one game its a must buy as you can put so much time into this game before you have seen everything and gain attachments to certain characters, new and old. Its a great replay-able game that pretty much everyone can sink their teeth into and it brings back the genre of games that are actually a challenge to complete and don't go easy on you.
