Another game that actually came out a while ago (2013) and I have only really just got round to fully playing through it completely is Grand Theft Auto V. After having a rough start with it, PlayStation 3's do not like to live beyond a year apparently, and having to start the story mode 3 times, I eventually got going with it and it was really something special. I think this is possibly one of the best games that I have played all year, It is truly brilliant and contains one of the best stories that I've seen recently in a game this big and hyped!
The concept of GTA to someone who has never played a game in the series before is that you are a character in a world full of drugs, crime and the mass theft of vehicles and you strike to survive and adapt in the changing world around you. The character you play as usually is a big part in shipments of drugs and weapons and are generally trying to gain money from crimes, robberies and generally trying to become the main man. The difference that GTA V showed was the introduction to be able to play as 3 different characters, that can be dropped in and played as at any moment and when your not playing as they they will get on with there life doing mundane tasks until you play as them again. It is a really good system and works well for the overall story. When travelling around there is so much to do in this game that even when you get 100% you still haven't finished, and you can find yourself getting lost in the sheer amount of things on the side there are too do, and soon enough 3 hours have passed and your on the 16th hole of golf and have wasted an entire afternoon without even noticing. But you never feel bored doing this, even though the main reason the game is played is for the general messing around that can be done in the game, either way you never feel bored and there are so many hours you can put into this game.
Saying that this is one of my favourite games is probably an understatement as it truly is beautiful, especially since it has now been brought onto next-gen consoles and is now in shiny first person as well, a first for a GTA game. The graphics are just stunning and it is what really brings the world to life, especially with the added people generally on the streets and cars on the road. The world just seems to be brimming with things to explore and do and it can only be done by experiencing it first hand on whatever platform suited to you, but to get the true glory of it, a next gen experience is worth the money.
