Extended Practice Character Bio, Mood Boards and Family Tree

Below is the character bio that I created to be able to understand Steve, the main character in the game better. Everything about him is listed here and it gives a very good understanding to who he is and why he does the things he does in the game. This was a technique that I carried out for my last project and it very much helped in understanding who the character where so that if they were placed in certain situations you know how they would handle and approach them.

Profession: Retired Professional Performer
Education: Passed his Koalification’s by being hand reared

Hobbies/Interests: Enjoys throwing rubbish at passing tourists and loves stealing cans of pop when their not looking to keep him energised. He also enjoys sleeping and does for around 10 hours, instead of the usual 20 like the rest of his cage mates. When he was younger he used to love hearing stories that his dad told him, his father had been in the wild up until he was 3 when he was brought to the zoo, and had wonderful stories of his family and where they lived, this is what sparked Steve's enthusiasm for the Ancients, as his great-great-grandfather used to be one many years ago.

Political/Religious Beliefs: He believes in the Ancients, a legendary tribe of koala’s that live in a sanctuary and travel and protect the world and it’s wonders. He dreams he is one of them on a regular basis.

Disposition/Personality: He is very spritely for a koala and enjoys the company of other species, as his mates sleep all the time. He is a fairly messy fellow and doesn’t care about tidying up after himself. He is very determined and one day knows he will succeed in his dreams.

Weaknesses/Faults: His body clock is very limited which makes it harder for him to complete day to day tasks, so to counter this he drinks a lot of stolen pop that he takes from the tourists looking around the zoo. This means he doesn’t get as much sleep as he should. He doesn’t regard personal hygiene very highly and constantly belches in public due to his pop addiction. He can also be very gullible and naive in certain situations

Pet Peeves: He doesn’t like to be tricked as most situations confuse him anyway, and he really dislikes diet pop.

Fears: Not finding his true calling in life, and being stuck in the zoo for the rest of his life.

Guilty Pleasures: Ice-cream

Prized Possession: His backpack, which he has had all of his life, received from the gift shop.

Proudest Achievements: Passing his Koalifications

Secret Talents: Due to all the pop he drinks, he is very fast on the ground and has become very fast at climbing and jumping.

Clothing/Appearance: He is an average size koala, and looks fairly old in appearance. He will also be seen in shorts and often carried his zoo backpack.
Dialogue/Interactions: He has a Southern Australian accent.
