Extended Practice Weekly Evaluation: Week 2

26th of January to the 1st of February 2015
This week I continued with my research into existing games and started with looking at the remaining games for the mechanics that I had listed as being ones that could be inspiring. I looked into the Emperor's New Grove, GEX and Muppet Monster Adventure to see if any of them had any interesting features that I could use for my own game environment.

I then looked back at Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, Mario and Banjo-Kazooie to see how there hub worlds where set up. I had originally looked at these games for their mechanics, but found that these stood out for having some very interesting hub world as well. This is something we plan on having in our game and our main focus was turned to Crash Bandicoot's as the hub world was small but had a lot of features that we liked.

I then quickly looked into a few mini games that feature inside these larger games as well. This is something we are interested in looking to create or feature in our game, but at the moment we are still not sure if we want to include it or not.

This week again went fairly well, but surprisingly slow in the end and I found that I wanted to get all of my research done in these first two weeks but I still had a few more things that I wanted to look at. I didn't like already being a little bit behind, but I know this is something that I can bring back quickly.
