2nd to the 8th of February 2015
At the start of the week I finished up my research from the previous week and looked into the big games again; Mario, Spyro and Crash Bandicoot, but this time to look at the size and layouts of there main levels to try and get a good idea about what kind of level size we are actually going to be creating and how quickly you can get around them.
I then moved onto looking into different locations and where our game could actually be set. From doing my previous Context of Practice module I really liked the idea of setting our game in real world locations, or at least having that influence as it creates a really nice base to work on where you can take aspects of the real world place but then adapt them to fit our need and purpose so we began the search for this and eventually came to the idea of basing it around the Seven Wonders of the World, or however many there are now.
We were very happy with this, and because there are now a lot of different 'seven' wonders we had a lot of new and old ones to choose from. We decided to pick a couple of locations each to begin researching them to find out any nice facts about them, and eventually picked one each to base our individual levels on. Sophie picking India and the Taj Mahal, and myself picking Egypt and the Pyramid of Giza.
