PPP1 Research: Doctor Who

Silence in the Library and The Forest of the Dead
I then wanted to talk about Doctor Who and one of my very favourite episodes, and also why it is one of my favourites. To begin with David Tennant is the Doctor in this episode, which is probably the main reason as to why it is amazing; not that I don't like the others but Tennant was definitely the best and will probably always will be as he was truly an incredible.

These 2 episodes, as it was a two-parter, are brilliantly and all set in The Library which is the largest in the universe set on it's own planet. The story behind this episode is so cleverly put together and works so well as a stand along episode, written by the brilliant Steven Moffat. The story goes as follows and is centered around a little girl called Charlotte who is in her own world and can go to The Library to monitor it whenever she closes her eyes, and she is watched over by Dr Moon. When in The Library itself everyone who was in there 100 years ago have been saved onto the Library's database which is keeping them all safe in a different reality. It is a very interesting story and along with this there is also the Vashta Nerada, an invisible swarm of monsters that strips the flesh from bones who are collaborating to kill anything that they can find.

Along with these two stories this is also the first time Moffat introduced the character River Song, who two years later was brought back to be reintroduced, who played a fascinating role in these episodes as someone who knew the Doctor in the future, but shhh spoilers.

Throughout these episodes it shows just how truly amazing the writers can be to combine so many different storyline that make us shocked, laugh and also cry as it has a beautiful ending that can't be ignored. As usual in any Doctor Who episode the graphics and CGI are perfect and the whole Library environment is perfect as there is always that air of mystery around the shelves and to add that to something scary really works well.
