Planet Dinosaur

A while ago the BBC brought out the TV Series Planet Dinosaur. This was very similar to the old programme Walking with Dinosaurs in a sense that it was designed to teach you all about dinosaurs. The way in which Planet Dinosaur is more current, up-to-date and better in every way, apart from taking away the annoying man walking around, is that it gives current facts about newly discovered dinosaurs as well as the old ones.

To me this programme is fantastic and so interesting. I loved watching the 6 part mini series again this week to remember how wonderful and strange dinosaurs actually are. It still manages to amaze me how the planet used to be filled with them all of those years ago and how they are being rediscovered, even today, by more and more people. With the fantastic voice over from John Hurt we are able to travel back in time to all of the different time periods in which the range is pretty big spanning back to 150 million years ago. Also due to the fact that this is VFX module, the CGI is brilliant to look at as well, and it does help me get ideas as to which dinosaur I want to go with in my video.

Watching the programme was not only really interesting and fun but also education and it will help me a lot with my project, as it really helped when I was creating my dinosaur mind map and also game me a few ideas for what I could base my story on.
