End of Year Game Art and Machinima Show

At the end of this year we also put on a show to promote our work from the Game Art and Machinima project that we did. We had the team from Game Republic coming in to look at our work so we wanted to put on a mini exhibition. We started the preparations for this by printing off our work and putting it on the wall in a location that was next to the computers that we would be promoting our work from. There were a number of pieces that we choose to put on our wall and we wanted to ensure that we picked out some of the best bits, which is featured below.

I am very happy with the result of the wall and think it shows off all our best bits from the project, especially the design stage were we have tried to promote it as much as possible. There are then also screen shots of our final piece next to the storyboards.

Then on our computers for the exhibition we will be promoting across three different ones. On the first will be our character turntables, both of them on half the screen so that they can be manipulated easily. The on the next computer we will have the Unity file so that you can walk around the environment, this gives them the opportunity to have a look around in closer detail so that they can look at everything. Then finally on the last computer we will have the final video playing on loop so that they can watch it in there own time.

Overall the event was of a good success, we got some feedback from our work and there was a lot of interest of what we had produced, especially when we told them in was 8 weeks of work. We also got he chance to show our work to some students from high school, around 14 years old, and we got a lot of good interest from them as well which is very encouraging to see, so overall the event was definitely worth it.
