Extended Practice Main Character Final Designs and Poses

I then moved onto creating my final concept art for the main character, Keith. Once the designs have all come together they really work well and contrast against each other well. The vibe that comes off him makes him appear to be very much a tourist and this will make him stand out in most of the locations that they visit. The only problem I have at the moment is the fact that he doesn't look incredibly old, something which is difficult as when looking at actual koala's, they do not appear to age. To get around this, I think a nice way of doing it should be looking into the way he is going to run around and try to create an old look this way.
I then wanted to look into how he would look in the different situations he may find himself in during the game. The way in which he runs is going to be important and to try and make him more of an old man will be difficult, so adding in an element where he will turn or appear younger again could be interesting and be applied as a game mechanic.
After looking at the way he looks, I wanted to look at the character turn-arounds so that I could use them to model from later on so that it was simpler. I decided to do the character turn-arounds at this stage so that I knew what everything was going to look like for the modelling stage of the process. I first drew just the outlines out so that I had a black and white version of the turn-arounds and this made it easier to them model them on Maya, but I also did a colour version of just block colours so that during the modelling stage I could see for definite which outline was for which section.
