When getting feedback on our characters, mine being the main character, and Sophie's being the enemy, weren't looking the same when it came to the concept art. When looking at how we could act on this feedback it was decided that Sophie would plan out her designs on paper and once scanned I was going to go over them on Photoshop to get them looking the same as mine.
Here below is the original design that Sophie have me for the face/head designs for the character.
And below is my version of it, from studying Honey Badgers in videos and images, I changed the face shapes just slightly and added a bit more fur as they do tend to have longer fur at the top of their head and moving down.
Sophie then sent me some designs for the body, and again I added my own twist to them, keeping them looking relatively the same as what she sent me, but again making them look more like my own character, so below is the original sketches.
And then here is my version below. This time when looking at the Honey Badger's I wanted to look more at their bodies, they tend to have longer fur on their bellies and their tails as well, so this was what I wanted to bring to this character, along with making her look more feminine.
Lastly below this is the final design that Sophie send me for the final look to the body. We wanted to go with the face that was more round and pointed and then go with a body that was curvy to give her a feminine look but also keep the general shape of a Honey Badger and not make it too fat.
So then, below if my final interpretation of the character. In the end I feel that it will be slightly more black and white rather than cream and brown but for now it gives a good representation of what the character would look like in terms of the body and head itself. I think the overall shape is good as honey badgers do not tend to be very big in weight and the breasts make the overall look more feminine, even though these will eventually be covered by clothing. I like the look of the longer fur on the tail and the stomach which goes through to the legs and think that the overall look works very well for a character that is going to be sat next to my own.
