Environment Research: Batman Arkham City

The next game that I want to look at is Batman: Arkham City, 2011, as it is a beautiful example of a city that is of a high quality and is beautiful to explore. Arkham City is an action-adventure game that also used elements of a stealth game that follows Batman, and occasionally Catwoman, while they go up against both Hugo Strange and the Joker to help foil there plans, along with meeting the other most popular villains along the way including, Two-Face, Poison Ivy and the Riddler.

When it comes to the general gameplay it is very easy to glide around the city as Batman due to how he can use his cloak to catch the wind and almost float around. Then there is the grapple ability in which he can grip onto most places in the world and swing onto them, making it very easy to get onto the highest tower blocks. The world in which you can play around is enormous and everything has been rendered in amazing detail, so that it makes it feel that you are flying round an actual city as there have been so many details added in; like cardboard boxes in alleyways and street and building signs.
