One beautiful game that came out fairly recently is Tearaway for the PS Vita and it is from the same producers that created Little Big Planet, Media Molecule. Tearaway is about a messenger on a mission to deliver a message to the player, referred to as 'the You'. At the beginning of the game the player can choose whether they want to play as Iota or Atoi and vaigate through a world constructed from paper to deliver the message. The neat thing about Tearaway is that it uses pretty much all of the PS Vita's unqiue features to guide the character around the lovely world.
The overall game got such good reception from the fans and earned itself high praise from reviewers. What I really like about this is the overall look to the game and the art style of the environments. I am not as keen on the look of the characters themselves as they look a little bit flat, but I know they live in a paper world. But the environment is just beautiful and so dynamic. It is made uses scraps of paper and looks great in such a unique way. If there are curls of paper stick out of the ground you can stand on then and flatten them down, when you move off them they will curl back upwards into their original position, a really nice feature about the game.
I think they environment works so well for the kind of game it is, its very appealing to the younger market but this can also be spread into older generations as well, as it included nice little puzzles and interactive scenes with other characters that are amusing and engaging for the player. But for me the environment just sells it completely. I love the art style and think it has been designed so cleverly with obvious references to childhood memories of curling up paper and creating anything by cutting it out, which is also a unique feature where you design the faces of some character, much like in Little Big Planet.
