The biggest games that they produce at the moment are World of Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo but these games all derive from years and years of development into the series, especially when it comes to World of Warcraft. The story comes from Warcraft an original MMO that they created back in 1994. 10 years on World of Warcraft was introduced and now 21 years later it is now a world wide sensation.
The company Blizzard does seem like a really exciting one to work for, based out in California it consists of a team of hundreds working across all of the games that they produce and it appears to be a really nice company altogether. The people that work for the company are all really dedicated to producing top quality work and they always strike for excellence, something that I aim for myself. In a team as big as this I would consider myself to fit in around the design side working with the environmental or level design team preferably, but even fitting in with the art team, texturing different elements of the games as they all have a beautiful stylised quality.
Blizzard have a really brilliant part to their website where they can be contacted about jobs and this really inspired me to be much more creative when it comes to designing and creating things, especially in their section where it says about work experience and they really hit the nail on the head when it comes to this, and it doesn't necessarily mean experience within the industry, which is a nice change to what other companies want. It gives some really nice alternatives to how to get into the industry without the general industry experience.
