Velociraptor Research

After doing a lot more research into the Velociraptor I decided to create a mini mind map of everything that is to do with this dinosaur. I used several different websites to be able to gather as much information as possible to get a good background on this creature; such as the wonderful nature of it hunting it packs, as many scientists have theorised about, which is something that can be incorporated into my designs very easily.

After I then delved a little bit deeper into the world of Velociraptor's, I started to notice a lot more details into things that might not be right about this version of the dinosaur. There are now a lot of theories that the Velociraptor was actually feathered, like a lot of the other raptors, but they were just for show as they didn't actually help it fly as they were too small. But even though this is a very small detail to does change the appearance of it a lot. For me I am going to stick with the original look to the Velociraptor, like the one that they used in Jurassic Park, although not as big, as research has shown me that they were only ever about 1 metre high, and not include feathers for 2 reason. Reason number 1 being, if I add feathers not many people will know what dinosaur it is, as we have all grown up to know the one above and reason number 2 is that feathers will be very annoying to animate into a 1 minute film, and it will prove very difficult to get right.
