PPP2 Review: The Unfinished Swan

The next game that I wanted to look at was The Unfinished Swan. It is a game about exploring the unknown as a young boy who begins the story chasing after a swan. He ends up in a surreal, unfinished kingdom and the game begins in a completely white space, where the player must throw paint to splatter their surroundings and reveal the world around them.

This game is absolutely beautiful and inspiring game created by Giant Sparrow and immerses the player in a stunning world where you are in control of what you find in your surroundings by the power of throwing a paint like substance to show the way through. It is a really nice idea and creates a beautiful paint splatter effect that stands out against the rest of the white so much. Its brilliant how you can then see outlines of shapes and see where you need to go even though your only seeing basic silhouettes of objects.

The world is very inspiring and something like this might not be too difficult to design, and it could be something that I would definitely give a go. What I also really like about this game is the music that is featured. It's beautiful and really captivates the mood of the game by immersing you further into the stunning kingdom around you as you literally just chase a swan around this strange and surreal but at the same time mesmerising world.
