The next company that I wanted to look into was Recluse Industries, another company that is based in York. This one was a little bit more exciting for me to look at and they are currently working on their first 'big' game Vigil, a game based around Sci-fi films like 2001: A Space Odyssey and Bladerunner, something that I haven't seen around for a while in the games industry, Alien Isolation was the start of bringing the Sci-fi genre back to games, especially on a large scale like this.
They look to be producing something really nice at the moment with this Vigil game and the team look really friendly to work with as well. The company is made up of 3 people altogether, the creative director Martin Wheeler, the coder and software engineer Raz Ainuddin and the animator and artist Billy Allison. It seems like a really close group and the ideas behind the game look really exciting so far. This is definitely a company that I could see myself being apart due to the small size of it and the location. The general art of the game looks really nice as well, going with a sylised and minimal approach that works really well with the sci-fi theme that they have going on and I will definitely be keeping up with the updates that they bring out for the game in the nearby future.
