Below is the brief that was sent to Sam Staff, a mutual friend, who is going to be doing the sound design for us for this project, along with a few other people he works with. I haven't worked with him before but he has done sound design for other people and have heard very positive feedback. I got in contact with him back in March and approached him with the idea of doing it and he agreed. I then wrote out a brief for him, as he was going to be using it for a University project as well, and sent it to him via Facebook as this was the easiest way to contact him.

Sound Effects
As we had already been working with Sam for our music, we also approached him about doing the sound effects for the game, which he happily agreed to doing, as he has a friend how he worked with that did this. We again sent him a list of requirments that we wanted for the final game levels, and wanted to ensure that we hadn't forgot anything as we only had a few weeks left of the project to tie up any loose ends.
'Keith the Koala' Sound Design

- Landing (sandals jumped onto stone)
- Fire crackling
- Falling sand into a pit below it
- Stone platform falling onto stone below it
- Spike trap moving up and down - Sound of it metal scrapping against stone as it moves up and down (https://vanillacodesnips.files.wordpress.com/2013/06/spyke-trap-mk2.png)
- Stone door sliding up against stone
- A blade trap swinging - The metal of the blade going through the air (https://tespostcards.files.wordpress.com/2012/11/swinging-blades.jpg)

Ancient Forest

- Pigeon cooing
- Any other animal background noises (scuttering?)
- Humming noise for a portal
- Noise for him moving through a portal (can be anything, like the death and level up sound you've already made)
Feedback Noises
- Burp (Energy)
- ‘Yahhooo!’ (Relic Collected)
- ‘Ouch!’ (Hurt)
- Leaf Pick Up Noise
We aren't going to have any dialog in our game, rather subtitles, like in an RPG. So we are looking for a small noise, like the character talking that goes at the beginning and lasts around 1-2 seconds to show that they are talking. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhlUjmsytTE) This video from about 3 minutes in shows what we are after, when Mario talks to a character they have a sort of mumble and we would like this for each of the characters so if you have time we would like 5 voices based around these characters different personalities.
Cheng: Relaxed and reserved, has a soft voice and is a quiet character.
About 10:45 into the video shows you some more dialog if you want to look at any more. Also there is a sound for when the text appears, I've been thinking of adding this in, would like to know your opinion on it and whether it is necessary?

India
- Landing (landing on grass) - subtle
- Subtle river noises (looped) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmar4gh5nIw(slightly less movement)
- 5 to 10 second subtle cricket noises (looped)
- 2 Stone blocks sliding along tiles and banging together -
sharp and quick
- 2 Stone block sliding apart (same time as the above)
- 3 seconds of a stone door sliding open - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wg8zE8B3fkQ

Honey Badger:
Honey: Female, evil and energetic, she has a cackling tone
to her voice (similar to the wicked witch of the west), and is quite high pitched
like a chipmunk.
Koala's:
Amita: Remains calm in all situations, her voice is fairly
high pitched and she is quite bubbly.
Brian: Very kind and naive. He tends to laugh quite a lot as
he enjoys telling jokes to others, sometimes he can get very sleepy, talk
slower, and eventually doze off - perhaps create a separate snoring noise.
Menes: A jolly old rather large man, who needs to be very upbeat and happy.Cheng: Relaxed and reserved, has a soft voice and is a quiet character.
