PPP1 Research: The Snowman

Seen as it has just been the Christmas holidays I decided to re-watch the snowman, due to the fact that the new one was produced this year, The Snowman and the Snow Dog. This is one of my favourite animations and also has been since I first saw it when I was little, even though then I didn't appreciate it as much as I do now. It is a beautiful animation which is all hand drawn to an amazing high standard and then photographed and played back as a video. This must have taken so much hard work and I am amazed at how simple it is but how amazing it turned out in the end as it is such a memorable and fantastic little animation short.

The animation itself combined with the beauty of the song choice to go with it, which of course the main song being Walking in the Air sung by Alad Jones pairs with the hand drawn images perfectly to bring the animation together as a whole. There is also another fun song in it when they dance with all the other snowmen and the true beauty of this animation is definitely displayed here.

Along with humour and sadness this is a beautiful animation that has cleverly been crafted together and is a must see due to the sheer brilliance of it, and how it is completely different to anything else due to the beautiful hand drawn artistry combined with the gorgeous music accompaniment.
